World Oral Health Day 2026 was observed with the theme "A Happy Mouth is... A Happy Life" through an awareness talk and a quiz competition on Oral Hygiene, Diet and Oral Health at Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat Govt. Higher Primary School, Babbukatte. The Department of Public Health Dentistry organised the program in association with the NSS Unit - 1, Yenepoya Dental College. The NSS Volunteer, Mr Muzammir, welcomed all participants to the program. The headmistress, Mrs Shaantha, in her address, appreciated the regular health awareness activities conducted in the school by Yenepoya Dental College. Dr Junaid, Program Officer, NSS Unit - 1 and Mr Bharat, Senior Dental Coordinator, in their address highlighted the importance of observing World Oral Health Day. After that, the Oral health education booklet titled "Healthy Smiles" was released and presented to the school headmistress. The high school students from DKZP Higher Primary School actively participated in the "Tooth or Truth" Quiz Competition conducted by the NSS volunteers. The session on "Brush Right - Live Bright ' the awareness talk on Oral Hygiene, was held by Dr Pramada Prabhakar, Senior Lecturer, Department of Public Health Dentistry. The student kit was distributed to all the students present in the program after the short session on Diet and Oral Health was taken by the volunteers Ms Fahima and Mr Ameen from Yenepoya Dental College. At the end of the program, Ms Rahifa proposed the vote of thanks for all the participants for their active participation in the program.
